Update: COVID-19

Last updated March 21, 2020 8:47 AM EDT

Producers and their families around the world depend on the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition to differentiate their products and add much-needed value in the marketplace.

Hundreds of companies have registered their brands in the 2020 edition and our responsibility remains to conduct this year’s contest at the highest possible standards.

The last day to register is March 31

As the coronavirus crisis has developed we have put in place a set of contingency plans for the successful administration of the 2020 competition.

While the pandemic could require us to delay the judging by days or possibly weeks, this year’s NYIOOC will go on, and the results will be widely distributed as soon as they are confirmed.

Registration for the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition will close at midnight, April 1.

Samples must be received by May 1

The current restrictions on travel do not apply to international package shipments. Samples are being received daily at NYIOOC and immediately stored in our climate-controlled vault at optimum conditions to preserve their quality until the judging commences. The deadline to receive samples is May 1.

Results unveiled in real-time, worldwide

This year for the first time, the results of the judging will be revealed in real-time, allowing producers and the public to follow and share these remarkable achievements as they unfold.

Olive Oil Times writers in every region will report on winning producers in breaking-news articles optimized for sharing and syndication.

We’re investing in new features on the Best Olive Oils Index, including the new retail locator that will help everyone find award-winning oils nearby.

And we’re expanding the Best Olive Oils Marketplace to Canada and Europe to help producers and their distributors get their high-quality olive oils into the kitchens where they deserve to be.

Our pledge

The coronavirus crisis poses unprecedented challenges for everyone around the world. Even under these conditions, our job remains to recognize and publicize the hard-working producers of high-quality olive oils. That mission will be fulfilled this year, as always.

We will continue to update you here going forward. If you have any questions, our support team is always standing by to assist you.
